Monica Hemming

Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern


Monica was born and raised in California but has been a Nassau County resident since 2002. Monica is a graduate from University of North Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2004.  Monica worked as a case manager for the State of Florida serving foster children, adoptive parents and families who were working towards reunification.  Monica also has experience as a certified teacher for the State of Florida where she worked in both Duval and Nassau County.  

Monica has her Master Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.

Monica has been married to her husband since 2002. Monica’s husband is a military veteran; therefore, she can relate and understand the difficulties associated with both active and retired life of a 20-year career veteran including an 18-month deployment to Afghanistan. Together they have 3 children. She and her husband have foster care experience where they adopted one of their children from the foster care system.  

Monica is an active community volunteer with Community Hospice of North Florida and Sharing Hope and Reaching People.  Monica is a passionate public speaker, educator and small group facilitator at her local church. She enjoys being an active member of the YMCA, participating in family activities such as beach combing, traveling, and cheering on her children at their various sporting events.  Monica is strategic in mapping out aspirations with specific goal markers to achieve what seems impossible.
