We are unique because we offer both educational and mental health services in one location which often affect each other when there are problems at school and/or at home. Breakthroughs is prepared to meet the needs of both.
Our Story
Upon returning from Honduras, Central America, after ten years as missionaries, owners Mike & Marty Edwards wanted to continue helping people. Marty's background in education and mental health combined with Mike's passion for helping people and his talents with business and marketing created the perfect combination to realize their dream.
The Dream
Years ago, Marty began to question; is it possible to combine people's educational needs with counseling? She knew the two often went hand in hand. With encouragement from friends and family, she decided to follow her passion and make the jump. Breakthroughs of North Florida was born on February 10, 2017. Mike continued to work in the HVAC business to financially help the business launch, and helped behind the scenes working late hours. He officially joined Breakthroughs in 2019.
