Devin was born and raised in southern California before relocating to Florida with his wife and two children, he has lived in Fernandina Beach since 2021. Devin has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is credentialed as a teacher, in Florida, in the areas of secondary Social Sciences and English. Devin is currently completing his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University.
Since moving to Florida, Devin has spent time within the Nassau County school system as a teacher and athletics coach. Prior to relocating to Florida, Devin worked in Law Enforcement as a patrol officer, detective, S.W.A.T. Operator and District Attorney Investigator. Because of his experience as a first responder, Devin is able to relate to the struggles that often come for members of these professions and their families. He has a passion for helping other first responders and their families.
As a police officer Devin was assigned to a joint task force consisting of police officers from multiple agencies and members of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. These teams functioned as co-response, mobile psychiatric/psychological crisis intervention teams which conducted mental health evaluations, interventions and coordinated wrap-around services for those suffering in the community.
Devin is an enthusiastic public speaker, educator and small group facilitator at his local church and community. He enjoys being an active member of the YMCA, participating in family activities such as camping, beach combing, traveling, and attending his daughter's dance and cheer recitals.
