Sherry Sloan
(Intern)
On a personal level Sherry knows what it means to live in a home where violence and addiction disrupt childhood, and what it means to be the child of a single parent who is trying to cope and make it all work. She is no stranger to navigating the challenges of a blended family throughout childhood and teen years. She also understands the challenges of divorce from the child’s perspective, as well being an adult who went through the difficulties of her own divorce in her twenties.
Now as a wife of 33 years, and mother to four sons who have all grown up and married she has solid marriage, parenting, and mother-in-law experience to strengthen her understanding of family life as well as the privilege of being a grandparent to four granddaughters.
Sherry has over 30 years of experience in helping people at all ages and stages of life. She has worked with children, youth, parents, and families including both large and small group settings and individually in schools, churches, and community groups. After many years of seeing such great needs in people’s lives, she decided to bring her heart for helping to a clinical level by pursuing advanced education, training, and practice.
